Scrapping my way through chemo treatments

Now that's an ODD title isn't it?  I'll explain.  My Husband is under going chemotherapy treatment for cancer that has metastasized to his lungs.  There are MANY days I can't leave him because he's to ill (like today) and go to the gym -- which is one of my ways to decompress.  My at home way to decompress is to SCRAPBOOK... to scrap all those memories of ours and our families.

Of course I digital scrapbook.  I love it and I'm hooked... I always loved paper scrapbooking but digital scrapping... is more economical and if I make a big huge mistake... I just fix it instead of throwing the sheet away and starting again.  What I like to do is print out the scrapbook page (on photo paper) I created digitally and then I also create a page that has matching paper from the kit I'm using and print that out on card stock. That way if I have souvenirs that go with the page... like programs, ticket stubs... you know stuff like that... I have a place that matches my page to glue them... SO when you open my scrapbook... You'll see on the left -- my souvenir page and on the right will be the digital scrapbook page.  Kind of the best of both worlds... don't you think?

So would you like to see what I've been working on?  I KNEW you would... so here goes...

I used the Springdipity kit created by Kiki Halbert... HERE IS A LINK to go snap it up at a great price and this is what it looks like... pretty isn't it?

to make this an easy NO STRESS page I used a templete created by Roadside Designs... from her Trail Map Collection 1.... HERE IS A LINK -- go check out these awesome templates.  Simple and clean... just lovely... I used the 8 1/2in x 11in templates on this layout (I've found it easier to find places that I can print out my digital scrap page) BUT her templates also come in the 12in x 12 in size... you are really going to love these...

So what did I create?  It's a page about my Niece (Kellie) and her first water fall (look how close she was to the edge!... she kept saying... Aunt L... can I get closer... I was about to have a heart attack as it was so it was a resounding NO!)

I hope you join me and scrap your life.  It goes bye so very fast... you should not miss a moment of it.

Busy but having SO much fun

I've been really enjoying myself.  I've participated in two challenges at Funky Playground.  The template challenge and the A to Z workshop.  I have some really fun layouts to share....

let's start with this one.....

 and
I'm making an album for Kellie of our hike at Cloudland (I might make her a few albums of her entire summer with us... I haven't decided yet... I noticed when she was here she would pull down my scrapbooks and look at them).  I created them with The Childlike Joy kit and free add on by Kreen Kreations here's a LINK (I also used Fiddle Dee Dee Designs templates).

I just finished this one

I created this with the Kit - My Girl - designed by Recherché by KH Designs here's a LINK and the template was designed by Little Green Frog Designs

This layout was made for the November Template Challenge at Funky Playground

I also created this next layout with the kit My Girl designed by Recherche by KH Designs here's a link and the template was designed by Fiddle Dee Dee Designs

Well I'm off to scrap some more before I go to bed... I want to create another one with the My Girl kit.  It reminds me of Kellie.

Happy scrapping until I blog again.

I love fall - don't you?

It's my favorite time of year.  It's cool but not COLD... it's not stark like winter but has some of the richest most vibrant colors of the year... aaaaahhhh I love it and I love THIS next kit almost as much... it let me scrap some of my fall photos that I took from my front door and is versatile enough that I also used it to scrap a summer photo as well.

I worked this last week with a kit from Kreen Kreations called Colors of Autumn here's a LINK where it just happens to be 50% off... did you miss that?  50% off.... here's a preview

and here's my layouts....

That's all I have for today.  See you next time...

It's a HUGE freebie

I got to work with a really nice kit full of warm sensual colors and guess what?  It's Free!  So you can try out Kreen Kreations work.  Don't miss out... it's a full kit.  It has 13 papers and 80 elements!  Look \/ that's the preview and here is the link
Here are my two layouts... don't forget it's free right now... don't miss out.

As you can tell... I'm a little outside of the box again.  It's called Tragic Opera... but I used it to express my feelings to my husband.  I used each of these layouts as one of my "daily emails" to my husband during his journey with cancer... so you see... it's a versatile kit... just waiting on you :)

Winds Of Change

Don't you LOVE the name of this kit?  I sure do... and just wait until you buy and download it... you're going to love it even more.  Here is a LINK to really great kit

As always.  I so enjoy scrapping with Kiki's kits.  Unlike many designers.  She gives you something to journal ON.  Many don't.  I like to journal.  I learned that from my Niece Carolyn -- here is her gallery at our site and here is her scrapping blog.  I remember when Carolyn first ushered me into digital scrapping.  She said something like "Auntie... do it like you would a normal scrapbook".  It's for your memories.  She's right... what is a scrapbook without words.

Would you like to see my layouts?  I hope so because that's what is next :)

Hope you enjoyed my layouts as much as I enjoyed creating them.  Thanks to Kiki for allowing me to scrap with her kits.
